Suspect Robs KC Zoo Workers at Gunpoint
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Police are asking for the public’s help following an armed robbery at the Kansas City Zoo this weekend.
According to authorities, two zoo employees were picking up money from different areas of the park on Sunday around 5:45 p.m. when they were approached by an unknown male suspect armed with a handgun. The suspect took an unknown amount of money from the employees and then fled on foot.
Police searched the area with a K-9 unit and a helicopter, but were unable to find the suspect.
The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 5’11” to 6’2” tall, medium build, wearing a blue or black KC baseball cap, bright orange or red sunglasses, a red bandana, gray hooded sweatshirt, black or dark blue sweatpants, and armed with a silver handgun.
