KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Chiefs head coach Romeo Crennel held his weekly news conference Monday. Below are some of his statements after Sunday’s 26-16 loss to the Oakland Raiders.

  • “Human nature says, if I could have done this, if I could have done that,” Crennel said about the short week ahead of them as the Chiefs prepare for Thursday’s game against San Diego. “When you lose it’s tough on you, mentally, you wonder about how you played, what you could have done differently,” he said.  “In a short week, you don’t have much time to put the game behind you.”
  • “I thought that during the bye week that I did something radically different in trying to impact the team and then that changed, got hit in the head, and then you just have to make the next adjustment, see what that is, when that is, and go forward,” he said.
  • “I thought our defense kind of held their own for about three quarters and then in the fourth quarter we slipped up in a technique here or there,”
  • About Brady Quinn: “They are testing him today,” Crennel said. “They’ll let me know and then I will know which direction I will need to go after that.”
