Kansas City, Mo. — You spend thousands of dollars on gas and groceries every year.  There are new ways to help you save at the pump after your trip to the store.  So pick your favorite place and find out how to save!

Hy-Vee Fuel Saver Card

  • Buy specially marked items in stores
  • Scan card at register
  • Pay at the pump at more than 1200 Hy-Vee, Shell and Casey’s gas stations

     Pros

  • No minimum to buy before you can start earning discounts
  • Large number of participating gas stations
  • Price drops automatically at the pump when you scan your Fuel Saver Card
  • Savings will add up over a 4 week period

     Cons

  • Another card to carry
  • There’s not a huge selection of participating items yet

Price Chopper

  • Earn $0.05 off for every $50 spent
  • Earn extra savings when you buy specially marked items
  • Earn extra savings when you fill prescriptions

     Pros

  • You can earn savings on everything you need to buy
  • Prescriptions will earn you extra savings
  • Veterans and members of the military get extra savings on Veterans Day

     Cons

  • You have to spend at least $50 in one trip before any discount kicks in
  • Can only be redeemed at QuikTrip locations

Murphy USA

  • Pay with a Walmart Gift Card save $0.10 on every gallon
  • Pay with a Walmart Credit Card save $0.15 on every gallon

     Pros

  • You don’t have to buy anything to get the discount

     Cons

  • There is only one location in the metro (It’s at Walmart near I-70 and Adams Dairy)
  • Deal ends on 12/24/12
  • You have to refill the Gift Card in store before using it at the pump
