Graphic Pictures of Abused Dog

HARTFORD, Ill. — Police are investigating a case of animal abuse after a dog was found with a rope embedded into its neck.

The dog, named Noel by her rescuers, died Wednesday during emergency surgery.

The organization called Hope Rescues hopes the pictures will cause outrage and lead to an arrest.

A reward of $750 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction.  The amount of the reward has been growing as word of the case has spread.
