Nail Salons on Guard Against Serial Thief

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Police are looking for a burglar who has been targeting nail salons in the metro area.

Investigators believe the thief has broken into 17 nail salons in the past three weeks.

One of the burglaries happened on November 20 at the Soho Nail Spa, 203 Northeast Englewood Road.

Police say the suspect threw a rock into the glass window and then ripped out the cash register and rummaged through drawers, but was only able to steal about $50.

The salon did not have an alarm system at the time, but a picture of the suspect was caught on surveillance cameras. Police say the suspect is an Asian man, and they believe he is in his early 30s.
