Gamers To Put Down Controls On Friday
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — An online movement is spreading quickly amongst gamers worldwide to show solitude on the one week anniversary of the deadly Connecticut school shooting.
The “day of cease fire” is expected to happen Friday, when online gamers say they will put down their controllers in support of victims and their families in Newtown.
“We are simply making a statement that we as Gamers are not going to sit back and ignore the lives that were lost. Instead we will embace (sic) the families with our love and support,” a Facebook group said.
So far, more than 2,000 people have pledged to drop their virtual weapons for the day on Facebook alone.
