NORTH KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- A group of Northland businesses are teaming up to turn a clunker into a holiday gift for a family in need of a reliable car.

The small business owners say that they've seen how tough times have become for a lot of their regular customers, and so they are working to recondition an old 1998 Mercury Mystique - built at Ford's Claycomo Plant - as a gift to a lucky Northland family struggling to get by without a car.

FOX 4's John Pepitone is Working for You with the report.

If you know someone who might be a worthy recipient of the car, click here to learn how to nominate them. The finished car will be given away on Friday afternoon.
