MISSION, Kan. -- There's a chance that the metro area may see some measurable snowfall over the next 24 hours - the first of the season - and that can mean treacherous conditions out on the area's highways. But keeping up-to-date on the latest road conditions is now easier than ever.
Both the Missouri and Kansas Department of Transportation have phone numbers and website with the latest highway conditions and information, but now some metro cities are also getting into the act.
In Olathe, officials have started a website showing precisely where the snowplows are, and when they'll be heading into your neighborhood.
"(We) found a good opportunity to use the GPS on our vehicles and put them online to let our residents know where they have been, and to get an idea when they will come by their areas," said Olathe spokesperson Tim Danneberg.
