KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Funeral services were held Saturday for soulful R&B singer Marva Whitney.
Whitney sang with the "Godfather of soul," James Brown in the 1960s.
She died Dec. 22 from complications of pneumonia, according to her former manager. She was 68.
On Saturday, Whitney was remembered for how she lived her life and the way she lit up audiences all over the world with her voice.
