Police: Man Stabbed, Dismembered Body Then Threw Arms at Witnesses
KIRKSVILLE, Mo. — A 49-year-old Kirksville man who police say killed and dismembered his victim, then threw the person’s arms at people nearby, has been charged with 2nd degree murder, according to kirksvilledailyexpress.com.
Paul Potter was arrested Sunday night at about 11 p.m. when police responded to a vehicle fire where he lived. When they got there, they discovered two apartment units were also on fire and witnesses told police that the man was throwing things at them. Police later discovered that the objects were arms.
Once the fire was out, police found the victim’s dismembered body in the apartment, but have not released the person’s name.
Kirksville is about 3 hours northeast of Kansas City.
