FOX 4′s Robert Townsend Surprised by Viewer in a Good Way

FOX 4′s Robert Townsend was surprised Friday morning by a FOX 4 viewer who reaped the benefits of Townsend’s reporting.

Bob Akers from Surplus Exchange presented Townsend with an award, expressing his appreciation for a story he covered. Thieves stole two box trucks from the company, causing Akers a lot of stress.

“My first thought was, ‘I’m going to have to explain to the board that I’m going to have to buy $70,000 worth of truck at the next board meeting. That’s not gonna be pleasant.”

But a FOX 4 viewer saw Townsend’s report and later spotted the stolen trucks. They were recovered and returned to Surplus Exchange. And, as we say at FOX 4 News, that’s ‘working for you!’
