QT Clerk Still Laughs Over Woman Who Used Donut Case as Restroom
BLUE SPRINGS, Mo. — A bizarre incident at a Blue Springs Quik Trip gave a local man a good laugh again because he was there two years ago when it happened.
The video posted to YouTube shows a drunken woman apparently mistaking Quik Trip’s doughnut case for a toilet. The unidentified woman enters the store and walks directly to the case. She then drops her drawers while onlookers stand by confused and flabbergasted. The woman then cops a squat right there in the middle of the gas station and “uses” the donut case as her toilet — for an extended period of time.
Meanwhile, the store clerk is seen on the phone — calling police and his boss.
“I grabbed the phone and a thought just goes through my mind, ‘I really hope she doesn’t poop in the pastry case,’” said Josh Allphin, the clerk working that night at the store in Blue Springs off Woods Chapel Road.
Comments on YouTube indicate that the friend of a former employee of Quik Trip posted the video in May 2012.
Mike Thornbrugh, spokesman for Quik Trip Co., told FOX 4 Friday the store discarded all the merchandise around the woman and thoroughly disinfected the area where she exposed herself. Thornbrugh said the woman did not actually use the doughnut case as a restroom even though the video seems to show otherwise. He says the incident apparently involved a dare between a mother and daughter (the mother was the one who took the dare). Thornbrugh said there was no urine or feces to clean up.
“I didn’t know of any dare between her and her daughter,” Allphin said. “I mean, when her daughter walked in and asked, ‘What are you doing, mom?’ It certainly didn’t look like there was any kind of a dare involved. But no, from my knowledge she thought she was using the bathroom.”
“The donuts were actually just delivered probably about a half hour before that so…. just threw them all away,” Allphin said. “All the other customers would come in that morning, ‘Um, where are the donuts?’ ‘I sold them all to one customer,’” he said and laughed.
