OVERLAND PARK, Kan. — Two men were taken into custody Thursday after a woman called police and reported someone had broken into her home with her inside.

The incident happened in the 10500 block of Flint in Overland Park, Kan. Police said around 12:05 a man knocked on the woman’s door. When she didn’t answer, one of the two men went to the back of the house and began kicking the door. The woman ran upstairs, hid in the bathroom and called police.

When officers arrived, one suspect who was waiting in the car was taken into custody without incident. The other suspect left the area on foot, but was apprehended a short time later by officers in the 10600 block Quivira.

The homeowner was not injured. The investigation is still ongoing and no further information is available at this time.
