Heavy snow closes Bond Bridge and portion of 291 Hwy
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Heavy snowfall has caused 291 Hwy to be shut down both directions at 210 North and I-70 South. Also closed is the Bond Bridge.
Some areas in Kansas City are expected to received 10 to 12 inches of snow. Shortly before 10 a.m. Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon issued a state of emergency due to severe winter weather.
“A severe winter storm continues to bear down on communities across the state,” Gov. Nixon said. “Missouri stands ready to help communities in need and to deploy the resources to keep folks safe. I urge all Missourians to keep a close eye on the weather and avoid unnecessary travel.”
