Kansas City area post offices to deliver packages Sunday
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Feb. 21 snowstorm that dumped more than a foot of snow on the Kansas City area created havoc on local roads and highways. It also kept thousands of packages from being delivered to area residents on Friday and Saturday.
Now that the roads have improved dramatically and in anticipation of another heavy snowfall on Monday – the Postal Service has announced it will deliver packages on Sunday, Feb. 24 to the communities served by the following Post Offices:
- Kansas City, Mo.
- Independence, Mo.
- Lee’s Summit, Mo.
- Blue Springs, Mo.
- Kansas City, Ks.
- Shawnee Mission, Ks.
- Olathe, Ks.
- Lawrence, Ks
- Leavenworth, Ks.
“We want to let our customers know that our letter carriers will be delivering packages on Sunday,” said Kansas City, MO Postmaster Deborah Woodrum. “And to help keep letter carriers safe, we ask customers to clear as much snow as possible from walkways, steps, porches and from around rural-type and cluster mailboxes.”
