KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A dog thrown from a Kansas City overpass last week is doing “very well,” caretakers said Friday.

Nancy Campbell of the Missouri German Shepherd Rescue said they had to remove a few more of Lindey’s teeth than expected. However, they only had to do surgery on one paw.

Campbell said vets believe the other paw will heal on its own.

“Lindey sends slurpy kisses,” she said.

The German Shepherd was spotted by a couple last weekend who had been at a horse show at Hale Arena at the American Royal. They saw Lindey lying nearby, severely injured. Someone told them the dog had come flying over the 23rd Street viaduct overpass moments before.

Her rescuers at the rescue group believe Lindey landed in a snow bank, which may have helped save her life.

On Thursday,  Lindey had the first of several surgeries needed to repair the damage to her legs, paws and mouth.
