Big 12 Men’s Basketball parking info, road closures, and bracket
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — It’s not like we’ve never hosted the Big 12 Men’s Basketball Tournament before. It’s been played here 12 times in the past 17 years. And starting Monday through Sunday, there are some road closures we want to remind you about.
They are all on the west side of the Sprint Center and in the Power and Light District.
- Grand is closed from Truman to 13th Street and from 14th Street between Walnut and Grand.
- Walnut between 13th and 14th Streets will close Tuesday morning, making a very nice number 4 sign on your map — easy to remember.
As far as parking is concerned, expect to pay up to $50 for the lots close to the stadium.
There are more than 20,000 parking spaces, but some lots are 10-12 blocks away, so park early or bring your walking shoes with you. They are already setting up Fan Fest on Grand right outside the Sprint Center. And they expect thousands of fans from Texas, Oklahoma and Iowa to begin pouring into Kansas City over the next couple of days.
There are still some tickets available, but only on the upper level behind both basketball goals. All the other seats have been sold.
The games begin Wednesday night, but KU and KState don’t play until Thursday.
KU will play the winner of the West Virginia-Texas Tech game at 2 p.m., while KState will play the winner of the TCU-Texas game at 6 p.m.

And then we do it all again the next week when the NCAA Tournament comes to town.
