KANSAS CITY, Mo. — With plenty of moves in the early stages of free agency, the Kansas City Chiefs have now added former Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Donnie Avery.

The Chiefs signed Avery on Wednesday, according to a report by ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Entering his fifth season in the NFL, Avery will be playing for his fourth team as a member of the Chiefs. After playing for the University of Houston, Avery was drafted by the St. Louis Rams in the second round of the 2008 NFL draft.

Avery spent 2011 with the Tennessee Titans before joining the Colts in 2012, where he posted 741 yards receiving and three touchdowns. He has over 2,000 career receiving yards and 12 touchdown receptions.

In addition, Kansas City officially announced the signing of former Atlanta Falcons cornerback Dunta Robinson on Wednesday. NFL.com lists other Chiefs free agent acquisitions, including former New York Jets defensive end Mike DeVito, and former Miami Dolphins tight end Anthony Fasano.

Add quarterbacks Alex Smith and Chase Daniel to the mix, and the Chiefs have been one of the NFL’s most active teams in the first day of free agency.
