KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- After severe weather rolled through Kansas City Sunday night, some were forced to deal with the aftermath. Downed trees littered Kansas City's Brookside neighborhood.
At the height of the storm, Kansas City Power & Light said approximately 75,000 people were without power, including about 5,000 people in St. Joseph, Mo.
In Gardner, Kan., wind gusts of about 72 miles per hour were reported -- speeds that are just shy of a category one hurricane.
Fortunately, no tornadoes touched down in or around Kansas City, just high winds that caused damage to trees, power lines, swimming pools and trampolines to name a few.
