Large-busted teen refused admittance into prom, told to wear shawl
SILVERDALE, Wash. — Parents of an 18-year-old high school senior in Washington want their daughter’s school to apologize for ruining her prom by at first refusing to admit her because they said she was showing too much cleavage.
Brittany Minder has large breasts. She was forced to wear a shawl over her chest before school officials would let her enter prom, according to KOMO-TV.
School dress code allows strapless dresses, as long as cleavage, midriff and lower back are covered.
Brittany’s parents say she was singled out because of her body, which she can’t change.
“A girl like Brittany should not have to go to a dance in a burlap sack because she’s large-busted,” her father told KOMO-TV.
Minder said her gown was designed for a woman with a large bust.
“All women are not created equal and you can not compare a golf ball to a grapefruit, her mom, Kim Minder said.
