Man charged with aggravated battery after horse play stabbing
OVERLAND PARK, Kan. — A man was seriously injured early Wednesday morning after he was reportedly stabbed with a sword in the front yard of an Overland Park home. On Thursday, Dustin Evans, 26, was charged with aggravated battery and is being held on $250,000 bond.
Police say Evans and another man were play-fighting outside a home south of 151st Street, between Nall and Metcalf at about 3:00 a.m. when the fight turned serious and one man grabbed a sword and stabbed the other in the abdomen.
Police say the victim is in his mid-30s and has life-threatening injuries. Evans is set to appear again in court on June 27.
