Kansas City, MO----The City Council approved a plan to add 12 miles of bike lanes for bikers to travel.

The lanes will connect downtown to Kansas City, Kansas, and also to Johnson County and on the east side through the Jazz District.

Federal dollars will pay for the plan to stripe bike lanes along Grand Boulevard, 18th Street, 20th Street, West Pennway and Beardsley Road.

"Kansas City is a bike-friendly city," Marc Loner, an avid bicyclist said, "I feel safe when I'm riding, I feel like drivers are looking out for me."

The city first adopted its Bike-KC plan eleven years ago.
