‘Tour of KC’ becomes YouTube hit
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — What began as a brainstorming session with several friends ended up being a pretty funny (and maybe too accurate) description of Kansas City, at least in the eyes of Emerson Rapp.
Rapp’s latest video, “A Tour of Kansas City” depicts everything many think about our great town.
The video begins by showing a couple holding a baby with a man asking, “Want to see the real Kansas City?” Which follows by “this is where you get…” on locations all over town.
Filming took two days, along with some help from director Briana Marxen-McCollom, Drew in production and local actors Jaime Blum and Ken Koval.
“I started off with BBQ joins that every good Kansas Citian should know and went to places I know and love,” he told FOX 4.
We should mention, the YouTube clip is pretty comical.
“Writing the jokes and puns from there was easy work.”
Rapp said he realized he had his skeptics, but the response from the nearly 2 minute clip has been overwhelmingly positive.
And, like many before him, Rapp calls Kansas City the “largest small town in America.”
“I knew people could relate, but I had no idea it was going to be this big of a response.”
For the record, Rapp is appearing at the Westport Coffee House at the Kansas City Fringe Festival. You can check out his comedy group, Bottoms Up Comedy, on their YouTube page or follow them on Facebook.
