Fire at OP playground is ‘suspicious’

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. — The Overland Park, Kan., Fire Department said a fire Wednesday afternoon at a playground is being called “suspicious.”

The fire sparked around 3:30 p.m. in the 7800 blk. of W. 61st St. at Crestview Park.

No one was hurt in the incident, however there is about $15,000 worth of damage to playground equipment, officials said.

Police have teamed up with the fire department in an effort to identify who might have set the fire.
