Sporting KC signs top prospect, youngest player in MLS

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Sporting KC announced Friday afternoon that it has signed a 16-year-old Kansas City teen to play.

Eric Palmer Brown received his jersey during the news conference when the announcement was made. Palmer-Brown is the youngest player in Major League Soccer and is one of the top prospects for his age, ranked #1 in the region and #9 for the class of 2015.

He's 6'1" and 175 lbs. He joined the Junior Academy in 2009 and is the third home-grown player from the academy to join the team.

He played one season at Lee's Summit High School.

He will finish his education at Bishop O'Hara. He is originally from Ohio.
