UPDATE: Three dead after gunman opens fire at Pennsylvania town hall

ROSS TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Three people died after a gunman fired shots during a town hall in Ross Township according to affiliate WNEP. Police said that the incident began around 7:20 p.m. EDT, the third death was confirmed at 9:45 p.m. EDT.

Three others who were sent to a hospital after Monday night’s deadly shooting — including the man accused of being the gunman — have been released, according to Geoffrey Roche, spokesman for the Pocono Medical Center. The suspect, Rockne Newell, is now in police custody.
