Big Eleven Lake drowning victim identified

KANSAS CITY, Kan. – Police and firefighters discovered the body of a drowned man on Sunday shortly after 6 p.m. at Big Eleven Lake. That body was identified later on Sunday as 58-year-old Alvino R. Piersey.

A FOX 4 crew at the scene reported that his friends said he simply decided to jump in. After he didn't surface, friends called 911. Police said there are no signs of foul play.

Piersey is reported to be from the Topeka, Kan. area but he does have family in Kansas City, Kan.
