LEE’S SUMMIT, Mo. -- A 53-year-old Lee's Summit man has been charged with using the internet to solicit an underage girl for sex. FOX 4 spoke exclusively with the mother who led detectives to their suspect, Brian Lucy. Warning: This story contains messages and details that are sexually graphic, discretion is advised
FOX 4 has agreed to protect the mother's identity with the pseudonym, ‘Carol’ because this case involves serious sex crimes. She believes Lucy, now in jail, was capable of some scary things if she hadn't called police when their online chats took a twisted turn.
"I haven't even met the guy or anything, but he's gross, he's creepy,” Carol said.
Carol said she had no doubt that Mr. Lucy's sexual intentions for her daughter were very real.
“Mentioned we could get together and bring my daughter's panties unless she was active now too. And I was like, ‘Dude! She's 10 years old.’"
Carol met Mr. Lucy in an online chat room almost a year ago but last week she said his instant messages under the name "leesumping" took a disturbing turn.
One string of the disturbing messages read:
“And bring your daughters panties for me, unless she is active now too.”
Carol responded: “u what?”
“leesumping” replied: “Are you from lees summit”
Carol responded "my daughter is 10!!!!!!!”
“I don't even want to think about what he wanted to do with my daughter! I do know that one of his big things was a mother-daughter team,” Carol said.
Mr. Lucy didn't know it, but within the hour Carol had an undercover Lee's Summit detective posing as her online.
“He could be a woman, that's for sure, they talked about positions, all kinds of stuff yeah,” Carol said.
According to court records, police convinced Mr. Lucy to meet one of Carol’s friends on a different chat room where Mr. Lucy was told the friend had a 13-year-old niece. Lucy asked the friend if the 13-year old "would perform a sex act for free” The undercover officer told him $10. Mr. Lucy stated that would work
Eventually the undercover officer convinced Mr. Lucy to meet him at a Lee’s Summit park where he thought he was meeting a 13-year-old girl. As soon as he was under arrest, Mr. Lucy said he wasn't here to solicit an underage girl, even though police had yet to tell him why he was under arrest.
“I think the police did a good job in everything of getting him and doing what they needed to do on their part, I just think it's kind of wrong that they didn't notify me.” Carol said
It turned out Carol didn't know Mr. Lucy had been charged with child enticement and sexual misconduct until FOX 4 told her. But she's thrilled that he's behind bars on $100,000 bond, he's been charged with attempted enticement of a child and sexual misconduct involving a child less than 15-years-old.
