Independence police searching for armed robbery suspect

INDEPENDENCE, Mo. – Police responded to a Conoco gas station at 17121 E. US 40 Highway on a report of an armed robbery on September 5th at about 8:30 p.m. The business was reportedly robbed by a white male who stands 5’7 and weighs 140 pounds. Witnesses said he was wearing glasses, khaki pants and a black hooded sweatshirt at the time of the robbery.

Witnesses also stated that the suspect was believed to have previously entered the business and could have been seen in plain sight on surveillance video. Detectives want the public to take note of the video and notice the suspect has a tattoo on his left arm around the elbow and that he may also be balding.
