KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series returns to The Kansas Speedway this weekend for three races, including Sunday's Cup Chase race. Due to recent rain, some last minute preparations were delayed, but officials say it will all get done before this weekend's events.
Monday, crews from Missouri Turf Paint and Field Graphics painted all the logos on the infield grass. Cleaning crews also made sweeps through all suites and boxes, making sure everything is online and ready to go for guests.
The track was also treated with a device known around the track as the "tire dragon." The tractor pulls four NASCAR tires, dragging them on the pavement to help condition it.
On Thursday, racing teams will test a brand new Goodyear tire from noon to 4 p.m. Friday night the ARCA series will race, Saturday, it's the Nationwide Series turn and Sunday, The Sprint Cup race is set to start at 1 p.m.
