LENEXA, Kan.  -- A local film student is hoping to make his star-debut during the upcoming Superbowl.

Kyle Kelley says he spent well over 200 hours putting a commercial together before entering it in the Doritos Crash the Super Bowl contest online. The winner gets their commercial aired during the Superbowl as well as $1,000,000 cash, a trip to New York City and the opportunity to work on the 'Avengers' movie.

In Kelley's commercial, you see a thief steals a poor old lady's purse and finds a bag of Doritos chips inside. Instead of letting him get away, the woman takes her walker and chases after him.

"All the other commercials either had a baby or an animal. We now have a tough grandma. She may be old and frail but you steal her Doritos and she will whip your butt," Kelley said.

Kelley's commercial is currently in fourth place and could move up or down depending on how many votes it gets. Doritos ultimately picks the winner and the creator isn't notified until the rest of the country is.

"We don't know until it airs during the game," said Kelley. "The top two commercials get aired during the Superbowl."

The massive cash grand prize is obviously a huge incentive, but more than money is the 15-minutes of fame Kelley hopes to gain. He said he plans to ride it out as long as he possibly can.

"I want to one day win an Oscar, that's my goal," he said.
