KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Kansas City police have released a wandering child to his grandmother on Monday night after searching for parents or relatives for a few hours. The young boy who calls himself "Mikey" was found wandering near the department's East Patrol Station at about 4 p.m.
FOX 4's Macradee Aegerter reported that a passerby traveling on a bus called police to alert them that they saw Mikey at 27th and Spruce. That person stayed with him while calling the police.
Police have not yet said how they believe Mikey was able to wander off by himself. His grandmother left with him from the East Patrol Station shortly before 7 p.m.
