Bank robbery suspect arrested on a bus in KCK

Jamarr R. Dale was arrested and charged for allegedly robbing a bank in Kansas City, Kan.

KANSAS CITY, Kan. — Police arrested a bank robbery suspect on a city bus Thursday morning. By Thursday afternoon, Jamarr R. Dale, 29, was charged with robbing a bank in a complaint filed with the U.S. District Court in KCK.

The alleged robbery occurred at Security Bank at 108th and Parallel. It happened at about 9:30 a.m., Dale reportedly gave a teller a note demanding $3,000 with a threat that he would start shooting if his demand wasn’t met. The teller emptied a cash drawer and handed him the money. Dale fled the premises after stuffing the cash in his coat pocket.

About five minutes later, police made the arrest after Dale got on a city bus. Officers who were at a Walmart store near the bank responded quickly to the call.

Dale faces a maximum penalty of 20 years in federal prison and a fine of up to $250,000 if he’s convicted. There were no reported injuries from the incident.
