KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- It's arguably the biggest show on earth. Over 100 million viewers will tune in this coming Sunday to see the Denver Broncos and Seattle Seahawks do battle in Super Bowl XLVIII.

"What happened when FOX Sports asked 20 students from my class to design the graphic open to the super bowl?" asked the voice on the videotape.

The answer to that question is eye-popping.

And it's been a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for Nick Fisch. The Olathe Northwest graduate is in his senior year at the Savannah College of Art and Design in Georgia.

He and his classmates spent 10 weeks working both during class time, and in weekend labs, building the graphic open that will air as Super Bowl XLVIII hits the airwaves this weekend. FOX 4 talked with him via Skype.

"This is a huge opportunity we were challenged with," Fisch said. "The task of concepting graphics that hundreds of millions of people will see. The championship game is a huge deal."

But Fisch and his classmates didn't work alone. FOX network sent two of their creative designers to Georgia to assist in production, and bring Cleatus the Robot to life. In fact, five graduates of Fisch's program work for FOX television's Super Bowl production team.

"They didn't treat us like students," Fisch said. "They didn't treat us like we were younger or less experience. It was a client-to-client bit where we had mutual respect for each other."

Nick admits that sports is not his forte. His personal goal is to steer toward the commercial animation side of media. But for a college-aged student, this is a great chance to show his work to the masses.

"I'm just really excited to see it and see our hard work put into action," Fisch said. "I want to see what FOX Sports did with it."

And when he sees, the rest of the world will look on too.
