KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- A longtime, non-profit agency that's reached out to many Latino families on Kansas City's west side is now heading east. The Guadalupe Centers recently bought the former Saint Paul's School of Theology on Truman Road. A lot of people are really excited about the multi-million dollar makeover the old theology campus is about to get.
The Guadalupe Centers incorporated plans to turn the 160,000 square feet of property into a multi-purpose building complex. The expansion project includes bringing a new charter elementary school and a catering service this summer.
By next fall, Latino families will see a new credit union and several after-school programs for kids pop up on the more than 18 acres the site sits on. Adult education, job training and housing for seniors will also be offered at the new site on East Truman Road.
