Two from Sedalia die when another driver crashes into their disabled car

SEDALIA, Mo. -- A 67-year-old man and his 43-year-old wife died Thursday night when they were stopped on 65 Highway in Sedalia and another car rammed into them.

Eldon Coleman, 67, was stopped on the highway at about 10:20 p.m., facing eastbound because of a prior crash. Neither he nor his wife, Melissa Coleman, 43, were wearing a seatbelt when the 63-year-old driver, heading southbound crashed into them.

Dale Carmichael, 63, of Booneville was wearing his seatbelt and survived the collision.

Both Eldon and Melissa Coleman were pronounced dead at the scene.

    It was a semi that hit them not a car!! And my question is. If they were facing the wrong way from a prior accident where were the police and was there another car involved in the prior accident. More details would be nice. This is such a sad situation. They were such nice people. May they RIP

    Where is the pick up truck that drove east bound across in front of them and why wasn’t driver mentioned? This was the original vehicle that caused the accident leaving Coleman’s vehicle disabled. No mention of it or driver in the print above but the newsman mentions the truck in taping. Wonder why almost every article never mentions the third vehicle or driver.

    Donna you are so right….its so sad couse that day was my sons birthday…..she picked him up that morning on the school bus and I told her it was my sons birthday she greated him happy birthday and smiled then waved as she drove off…..
