It appears Waffle House has a limit when it comes to tips from customers. When a North Carolina waitress received a mega tip, she was forced to return the money.

But the customer, who left a $1,000 tip, found a way around the company rule.

It happened three weeks ago on Mother’s Day night.  The customer gave her the big tip because of her customer service skills.

Shania Brown says she likes connecting with her customers but was shocked when the customer gave her $1,500 with the instruction to give $500 of it to a nearby customer who was also very kind.

“He was like I’m gonna bless you tonight, I’m gonna bless you tonight! And I didn’t think nothing of it.”

But when they found out about the huge tip, Waffle House managers said policy stated that unless a customer pays in cash or check, extremely large tips have to be refunded.

After a few weeks of wrangling with the company managers, Shania, the single mother, got a call from her anonymous benefactor.  He had heard about her trouble over the tip and wrote her a check for $1,000.

“I was soo happy! He’s like a hero to me, and I thank him for that,” she said.
