Pakistani brothers dig up grave, eat little boy’s body
PAKISTAN — Two Pakistani brothers will spend 12 years in prison after a court found them guilty of defiling a grave, destroying property and disseminating fear.
According to TIME the brothers admitted to digging up the corpse of a two-year-old child and cooking him in a curry. The skull of the young boy was discovered in their home.
Mohammad Farman Ali, 30, and Mohammad Arif Ali, 35, had previously served two years in prison after being convicted of exhuming and eating more than 150 bodies from a cemetery in 2011. They were released in May 2013. According to TIME, after their release neighbors complained to police after they smelled “rotting flesh wafting from their home.”
Currently there are no laws against cannibalism in Pakistan. The brothers plan to appeal the charges filed against them.
