KCK, KCMO police work together and capture suspect that fled

KANSAS CITY, Kan. — Police from multiple jurisdictions teamed up to try and find an assault suspect shortly before 7 p.m. on Monday. Police say that the suspect fled on foot into a wooded area near 49th and Douglas Avenue in KCK after reportedly assaulting a police officer near 40th and Euclid in KCMO.

The suspect then led police on a car chase that ended near 49th and Douglas where he ran into the woods. Police took the man into custody after 8 p.m. and he’s currently in the custody of KCKPD. There weren’t any serious injuries reported, despite the report of the alleged officer assault.
