OVERLAND PARK, Kan. -- One man was injured after a bar fight in Overland Park, Kan.

It happened at Margarita Paradise near 91st and Metcalf around 1 a.m. Monday.

According to Overland Park Police Captain Jim Sutterby, customers inside the bar got into a fight that spilled into the parking lot. One of the men displayed a knife and reportedly attempted to stab someone. Witnesses told police that person got into an SUV and hit the man with the knife.

"The victim of the stabbing got into an SUV then, as they were leaving, he ran over the person who stabbed him -- knocked him down and then ran over him with the SUV and then left the scene," Captain Sutterby said.

The man was taken to an area hospital as a precaution but is expected to be okay.

"We believe alcohol played a contributing factor in the argument," Captain Sutterby said, "so whatever the argument was -- probably their judgement was skewed by the alcohol and then that spilled out and got taken to another level."

No word on if any charges will be filed.
