OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Two overnight burglaries have a metro business owner concerned. Police say someone targeted several Great Clips locations lately; breaking in and stealing cash. Investigators say someone has targeted nearly a dozen Great Clips in the past two months.

Business went on as normal Friday at the Great Clips  hair salon off 95th Street in Overland Park just hours after a break in.

“In the early morning hours today (Friday) our officers responded to the report of a burglary. They responded to one of our Great Clips locations and took report of what we call a smash and grab type burglary,” Officer Michelle Koos said.

She said someone broke the glass on the front door, entered the store and took cash.

“It appears that this has been a little bit of a trend throughout the metro area. It’s not something that’s necessarily specific to this city, but it looks like this is a business for whatever reason that’s been targeted by someone or a group of someone’s metro-wide," Ofc. Koos said.

In the past two months police say someone has hit Great Clips shops in Lenexa and earlier Friday, the Roeland Park shop on Roe Blvd., which someone also broke into back in July. The two Overland Park locations are the Great Clips and 95th and Quivira and the Great Clips on Metcalf between 91st and 92nd.

“What we gather at one crime scene might not be what another agency gathers but they might gather something else, so when you put all those pieces together it gets the crime solved faster hopefully,” Ofc. Koos said.

Police say no one has been hurt in these break-ins. Overland Park police say they are working some leads.
