Fire, then bomb threat prevents Cass Co. students from attending school
CREIGHTON, Mo. — Students at Sherwood Cass R-8 were evacuated Thursday on their first day back to school following a fire.
A bomb threat was called into the school and as a precaution, everyone left the building so the Cass County Sheriff’s Office could sweep the building with a bomb-sniffing dog. The threat was called in at about noon.
The fire occurred on Sept. 16 and started in the boys’ locker room inside a utility closet.
Due to the time requirement for the police to conduct their search, the school decided to release early.
