Principal Mike Cullinan will spend Thursday on the roof of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic School in response to a challenge met by his students.

To show their solidarity with the poor, 7th grade student volunteers led their fellow students in collecting items that are essential for human dignity, such as toilet paper, toothbrushes and soap. Students conducted the drive to benefit Giving the Basics, a Kansas City charity that distributes these and other items to organizations serving people living in poverty.
