Area high school band heads to the Rose Bowl Parade

PASADENA, Calif. -- Performing in the Rose Bowl Parade is a privilege reserved for only half-a-dozen high school marching bands.

Nearly 300 members of the Blue Springs Golden Regiment Band boarded planes Saturday en route to Pasadena.

FOX 4's Carey Wickersham caught up with band members on their way out of town. Watch her special report in the video player above.

The band will be the last band in the Rose Bowl Parade on January 1st. They'll play a two minute montage of Disney songs.
