KC teens star in Music Theatre’s ‘Bring It On’

Some of the Kansas City area's most talented teens will take to the stage over holiday break starring in Music Theatre Kansas City's high-energy production of the Broadway musical "Bring it On". MTKC's performances will take place Friday through Sunday, January 2-4, 2015, at the White Recital Hall on the campus of the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Show times are 7:30 p.m. on Jan. 2 and 3, and a 2:30 p.m. matinee on Jan. 4. A cast of 38 will be joined by two local competitive cheer teams, KC Cheer-Fierce Five and Nash Jem Obsession.

MTKC is a professional program committed to bringing quality musical theatre and preparatory training to the Kansas City community. Tickets are $15 adults, $10 for students if purchased in advance; on performance dates tickets are $20 for adults and $12 for students. Based on the popular movie with the same title, "Bring It On" follows the story of Campbell, a high school senior who is captain of the cheerleading squad. Set for the best year ever, Campbell's plans are sidetracked when redistricting forces her to a different school with a totally different culture. However, things shape up for Campbell after she befriends the dance crew girls and their leader, the strong-willed Danielle. Together, the former a dynamite team and head for the National Championships.
