LENEXA, Kan. – Police are looking for the man who stole a car from the Bank of America parking lot near 95th and Monrovia Monday evening. A 5-month-old baby girl was inside, sitting in a backseat carseat when it was stolen.

The car was found less than an hour later, abandoned, and with the baby still inside. Police said the parents were standing right next to the car when it was stolen.

Eric Schupp, a witness who saw the entire thing, told FOX 4 he heard a woman yell "stop that car," and then saw the car speed away.

"I called 911 and I tried to tell them as much detailed information as I could," Schupp said. "Something in me kicked in to want to try to help but there was no way I could get in front of that car he was going so fast."

Schupp said he saw three men try to stand in front of the car to prevent the suspect from driving off.

"My adrenaline was going so fast," he told FOX 4. "All I could keep thinking was that poor baby."

Police said one person was hit by the car, but is expected to be okay. Police said the only description of the suspect they have is that he has a small build and is white or Hispanic and was wearing a hoodie.
