It’s a viral phenomenon.

The Dress, either blue and black, or gold and white, is nearly impossible to ignore, and while some wish it would just go away, others can’t get enough of it.

Savvy-minded people in promotions seized on the world’s appetite for “The Dress” conversation and tweeted out the hashtag, promoting their “brand”, no matter how obscure the connection.
