KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- A man dressed as a woman allegedly robbed a payday loan store in KCMO late Thursday  morning.

Police responded to Advance America in the 600 block of E. 99th Street  around 10:45 a.m. upon reports of a robbery.

Witnesses told police that a suspect dressed as a woman entered the store, demanded money then fled the scene with two others. Two of the suspects were found fleeing from the scene in a vehicle.

Police pursued the vehicle until the driver lost control and crashed into a tree in the 7000 block of Walrond Ave. near E. Gregory Blvd.

The suspects refused treatment at the scene and were arrested, according to police.

Police said they found the third suspect who was dressed as a woman at a convenient store near Cleveland Ave. and E. Gregory Blvd. Police said there was evidence of the suspect trying to take off makeup inside of the bathroom. The suspect was arrested at the scene.

According to a woman who worked at a business next to Advance America, the man was wearing high heels, a pink sweater and carrying a purse, which is suspected to have been carrying a gun. The woman said the suspect entered her business prior to the robbery and inquired about prices.

According to police, no injuries from any of the employees inside of the business have been reported.

FOX 4's Robert Townsend tried to speak with some of the employees, but they said they did not want to speak on camera.
