KANSAS CITY, Kan. — A bicyclist was rushed to Truman Medical Center on Friday afternoon after getting into an accident with a truck on Southwest Boulevard near Rainbow.

Police say the cyclist was riding in the wrong direction while traveling in a bike line. Police say the biker actually hit the truck before the driver began traveling on Southwest Boulevard.

The cyclist was conscious when emergency workers took him from the scene, and is expected to survive. Witnesses tell FOX 4 that the bike lane is new, and is an adjustment for many who work and drive in the area.
