Shooting leaves one dead and one in serious condition

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City, Mo. police are investigating a shooting that left one dead and one in serious condition.

Police responded to the 1500 block of E. 77th Terrace just after 11 p.m. Sunday after someone reported hearing the sound of gunshots.

When they arrived, police said they found a man who had been shot in the front yard of the home.

Police said the victim was pronounced dead shortly after.

According to police, a second shooting victim was found a few blocks away from the scene. Police said they think the second victim had been shot at the home on E. 77th Terrace.

The second victim was transported to the hospital to be treated for injuries and is listed in serious condition.

Investigators were still trying to determine what caused the shooting.
